Gorman's an Absolute star

Dave joins radio station

Dave Gorman has signed up to present a weekly show on Absolute Radio.

He joins Frank Skinner as one of the weekend presenters on the adult rock station, formerly known as Virgin.

Gorman previously stood in for Skinner on his Saturday breakfast show, covering for three weeks over the summer.

And in the new line-up he will presenting a regular Sunday show, beginning on October 11.

The comic said: ‘When sitting in for Frank Skinner everything seemed to just fit. I’m delighted to discover that the station bosses feel the same way and that I’m being allowed back to do more of the same.’

As part of the shake-up Jo Russell, who presents the 10am shows on Saturday and Sunday – as well as the 4am graveyard shift – will be leaving the station.

Absolute also broadcast the Edinburgh Comedy Awards ceremony last month, again hosted by Skinner.
