Back on the Roadshow
Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow is poised to return for a second series.
The BBC were delighted with viewing figures for the Saturday-night show, which attracted audiences of around five million each week.
McIntyre toured the country showcasing stand-up talent from well-known names such as Al Murray and Sean Lock to those with little TV exposure as well as performing his own material.
Now the BBC is ready to commission a second series, with a spokesman telling Chortle: ‘We love working with Michael and look forward to continuing to do so.’
The show – like the similar Live At The Apollo, also made by Open Mike Productions – bucked the accepted idea that stand-up rarely works on TV.
