I'll be alright on the night
Denis Norden has denied newspaper reports that he is ‘seriously ill’ after being rushed to hospital.
Today’s Daily Mirror reported that the 87-year-old comedy writer had been admitted to a private ward near his North London home where his wife was at his bedside.
However, it is now understood that he was merely visiting medics for a regular check-up.
He said he was amused by all the fuss, adding: ‘I am in good health, but it’s nice to know that bloopers are not only confined to TV!’
Norden plans to go ahead with his next public appearance – an ‘audience with’ show at Watford’s Palace Theatre on September 10.
