Producer Rogers was 95

Peter Rogers, the man behind all 31 Carry On films has died at he age of 95.

The legendary producer died peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday afternoon.

He began his career as a journalist before becoming a screenwriter for religious informational films, and then a producer, working mainly with director Gerald Thomas.

The first Carry On film was Carry On Sergeant in 1958, and he was also responsible for other projects including the television series Ivanhoe with Roger Moore and the film version of Sid James’s sitcom Bless This House.

Rogers had reportedly been ill for some time.
