X-rated stand-up played in Santa's grotto
Roy Chubby Brown reduced children to tears as they queued to see Santa – after his filthy routine was played over a store’s loudspeakers.The incident happened at House Of Fraser in Glasgow – the day after stormed off stage in the city just four minutes into his show.
Now the store has promised an investigation into how the adult material was broadcast throughout Santa’s Grotto.
One parent told the Daily Record that his four-year-old daughter was reduced to tears.
He said: ‘We were in the queue and the usual Christmas carol music was playing. But it stopped and the next thing I knew was Roy Chubby Brown blaring out. Every second word was fuck. My daughter started crying. That’s not the sort of language she’s used to.’
A House of Fraser spokeswoman said: ‘Unfortunately the traditional Christmas music was replaced by a rogue CD which was immediately removed as soon as we were made aware. We are currently investigating how this happened’
The incident occurred on Thursday, the day after Brown left 3,000 fans in lurch at the city’s Clyde Auditorium, sulking off after he was jeered for joking about the Mumbai terror attacks.
