A comedy version of Quantum Leap...

BBC Three plans sci-fi comedy

BBC Three is planning a new sitcom, described as a comedy take on Quantum Leap.

Brave Young Men will star Tom Basden, of sketch group Cowards, as a school caretaker who tries to prevent disasters with the help of a time-travelling civil servant from the future.

Basden is also writing the six-part series with Sam Leifer, and it is being produced by Steve Coogan’s company Baby Cow.

Leifer previously co-wrote and directed Baby Cow’s online comedy series Where Are The Joneses, which was sponsored by Ford.

A pilot episode, which involves a beer that contains a virus that could wipe out humanity, is set to be filmed next year.
