Hancock appeals against driving ban
Nick Hancock has begged a court not to ban him from driving – because it would affect his TV work.The former They Think It's All Over host is facing a six-month ban after he was clocked at 95mph on the M90 in Perthshire.
Prosecutor Robbie Brown said the comic was a ‘totter’ – someone who had already totted up nine points on his licence for three previous speeding offences.
But the Daily Record today reports that his solicitor Michael Stephenson told Perth District Court that a ban would cause 46-year-old Hancock ‘exceptional hardship’.
And he asked for any ban to be kept to one week so ‘he can continue to carry out his course of employment’. Hancock’s latest job is hosting the Saturday night ITV1 quiz show Duel.
Hancock, who admitted speeding by letter, was yesterday ordered to appear in court in person next month to argue his case.
