Duo perform together for the last time

Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders ended their three-decade comedy partnership with their final performance in the West End on Saturday.

The pair hugged at the end of their live show, Still Alive, at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane

Celebrities in the audience included Robin Williams, David Walliams and the duo’s husbands Lenny Henry and Adrian Edmondon.

When they announced their decision to end their partnership earlier this year. French, who is 51, said: 'There was just this gradual realisation that maybe there are other things we'd like to do; maybe it's a young person's game.'

The duo met in 1978 at London’s Central School of Speech and Drama and soon began performing at The Comic Strip in the early days of alternative comedy, before being snapped up by TV.
