Inbetweeners heads Stateside
The ABC network has ordered a so-called ‘put pilot’ from creators Iain Morris and Damon Beesley, who will adapt the show with a US writer.
The deal means the network will have to pay a penalty if the pilot does not make it to air.
The network has also committed to taking a second, unseen, script from the pair in the future. The writers have a track record in the States, having penned an episode of Flight of the Conchords for HBO.
Work on the second series of The Inbetweeners, E4's first original sitcom, is currently under way in Britain.
