A winning job
Russell Brand is to host MTV’s Video Music Awards, further boosting his blossoming American career.
He will host the show, which goes out live, from the Paramount Studios in Los Angeles on September 7.
Previous VMA hosts have included Jack Black, Chris Rock and Jamie Foxx.
Brand previously worked for MTV in Britain during his drug-addict days, hosting the Dance Floor Chart and MTV Select until he got fired for coming into work soon after September 11, 2001, dressed as Osama Bin Laden.
His status in the States is on the rise following his starring role in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. He is currently filming the Adam Sandler comedy Bedtime Stories, due for release later this year.
