Brand leads Canadian invasion
The Just For Laughs Festival has today announced the line-up for their 26th event, which takes place in July, and the line-up of UK and Irish talent includes Omid Djalili, who will be performing a solo show, Danny Bhoy and Jason Byrne.
Also in the programme are Pete Firman, Hal Cruttenden, Matt Kirshen, Neil Delamere, David O’Doherty, John Lynn and Josie Long, who also lands a rare solo show.
The Australian contingent includes Adam Hills and Brendon Burns, who will also be doing a solo performance of his if.comedy winning show, So I Suppose THIS Is Offensive Now.
The festival has long been seen as a vital showcase for US agents and casting directors, and will this year features a special industry strand, Just Comedy, to capitalise on this. It will include events with Juno director Jason Reitman and his father Ivan, of Ghostbusters fame, while Hollywood producer Judd Apatow will be honoured as ‘comedy person of the year'.
Other performers attending will include Ryan Stiles, Greg Proops, Jeremy Hotz, Tom Papa , Patrice O'Neal and Andy Kindler .
