The new heroes of comedy
C4 documentaries on comedy stars
Ricky Gervais, Sacha Baron Cohen and Little Britain's Matt Lucas and David Walliams are all to be the subject of Channel 4 documentaries.Each New Hero of Comedy show will trace their rise to fame, and feature several fellow comics paying tribute to their talents.
Gervais’s programme – the first in the series – will feature interviews with Stephen Merchant, Billy Connolly, Matt Groening, Michael Palin, Chris Rock and Russell Brand.
It is scheduled to air at 9pm of February 22, and will be followed by shows about Lucas and Walliams and Baron Cohen.
Each programme has been made by a different independent production company.
