Hill hits his peak

A record 7m tune in to TV Burp

Harry Hill has won his biggest ever audience for TV Burp, with seven million people tuning in on Saturday.

The figure – which is up a million on the week before - means that almost a third of people watching TV at 7pm were tuned in to his show.

Hill’s take on You've Been Framed also performed well, bringing in 6.4 million viewers in the half-hour immediately beforehand, up 1.1million on last week’s audience.

However, it was not all good news for ITV1’s Saturday comedies, with the ratings for Paul Merton’s improvised show Thank God You're Here plunging to just 1.9 million.

That is a fall of 800,000 viewers on the previous week, and just ten per cent of the total TV audience.
