Clock on, Tommy!
Police caught him speeding in his £26,000 Chrysler 300 onto the A1(M) near Washington in June.
He has now appeared at Sunderland Magistrates Court for sentence after admitting the charge.
Defence barrister Stephen Wood pleaded with the court not to disqualify 63-year-old Ball, whose real name is Robert Harper as he would be unable to work, or do charity fundraisers, without his driving licence.
Ball, a dedicated Christian, said he gave ten per cent of his pre-tax earnings to the church, and raised £17,000 for his chosen cause last year alone.
He also told magistrates his family live in fear of his former son-in-law, who is due to be released from prison next month after being jailed for harassing him and his wife.
Ball was given five penalty points and he was a £600 fine, with £100 costs.
Outside court, he told reporters it was ‘fantastic’ not to have been banned.
