Spike Milligan: My Part In His Memoirs
Adolf Hitler: My Part In His Downfall will be serialised over six quarter-hour episodes next year.
Meanwhile, Ed Byrne has also landed his own Radio 2 series.
The Irish comic is to record a pilot episode of Byrne In Hell, a half-hour rant against things which annoy him,
Both programmes will be made by independent production house Celador, which has recently announced a raft of drama commissions for Radio 4.
They are:
- My Blue Wedding, created by veteran writing duo Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, which is a sequel to last year’s My Blue Heaven about a man who encounters his childhood imaginary friend, but now all grown up.
- Me and Joe, a new 45-minute play starring Johnny Vaughan and Nick Hancock due to be broadcast in January.
- Good Evening, a 1 x 45-minute play for the spring telling the on and off-stage story of Beyond The Fringe. The play is written by Roy Smiles, who previously wrote the Goon Show play Ying Tong. It comes in the wake of several dramas on stage and screen about the lives of Peter Cook and Dudley Moore.
