BBC 'plans sitcom revival'

The BBC is said to be planning to bring back To The Manor Born as a Christmas special.

Stars Penelope Keith and Peter Bowles are rumoured to be reuiniting for the one-off episode, 26 years after the series ended.

The sitcom ran for three series from 1979 and at its peek attracted an audience of nearly 24 million viewers.

Keith played a bankrupt lady of the manor forced to move into the lodge, while her old mansion is snapped up by a supermarket tycoon

The BBC said: ‘We are not in a position to confirm details,’ but she did not deny that plans for the episode existed, as reported by MediaGuardian, and added that the BBC would make an announcement shortly.
