Both Billy Connolly and Peter Kay are Britain’s favourite comedians, according to a new survey.
The poll could not separate the pair, with both receiving 30 per cent of the vote. Ricky Gervais took third spot with ten per cent.
Sarcasm is the country’s favourite form of humour, according to the survey, with slapstick the least funny.
And men think of themselves as more funny than women with 31 per cent of blokes saying they made people laugh at least four times a day, compared with 18 per cent of women
The survey was commissioned by Vimto, whose marketing manager Claire Nield said: ‘We were keen to explore what gets the nation laughing to direct our future marketing strategies.’
