Comedy gets Posh
A rush decision was made to have Posh Spice introduce such programmes as My Name Is Earl, The Office and Scrubs following the ratings success of her documentary.
The show, charting her move to Los Angeles, was the most popular show in its timeslot on Monday, so the network decided to rerun it at 10pm tonight, after the comedy.
But network chief Ben Silverman decided to make more of it, and rushed through immediate recording of the links at the Beckhams’ new house.
‘He said, “Let's have Victoria host the whole night,”’ one network insider told trade magazine Variety. ‘Ben just cut through everything and it got done,’ the insider said.
Although presented as a documentary, some scenes in Victoria Beckham: Coming To America were staged, and her personal assistant was played by an actress.
