Gervais to headline first movie

Ricky Gervais has signed up to star in his first Hollywood film.

Despite receiving about three movie scripts a day, he has always turned down the chance to headline someone else’s movie.

But after supporting roles in A Night At The Museum and For Your Consideration, Gervais is said to have found a film he’s happy to star in.

'It's a romantic comedy fantasy,' he told the Independent on Sunday’s diary column. ‘I can't tell you the title yet because I'm bound to secrecy.

‘But I promise that it's a silly part. I'm not trying to be cool and I won't be bleaching my teeth for it.'
