It's Oz Noble

Ross's bid to make TV travelogue

Ross Noble is filming a travelogue around his 95-date tour of Australia in the hope of landing a TV deal.

The comic will be covering the continent by motorbike, and filming the people and places he meets en route, as well as footage of every stand-up gig.

Several broadcasters are believed to be interested in the format, following the success of the similar series Billy Connolly has made for the BBC.

A source close to the comic said: 'Think of a TV version of his Radio 4 series Ross Noble Goes Global' and you won't be far off. '

The Fizzy Logic tour will cover an estimated 17,500 miles between February and July and takes in all the major cities as well as the remotest backwaters of Australia and New Zealand. He has launched an appeal on his website for fans to tip him off about interesting sites and people worth meeting.

'Maybe it's a big thing on the side of the road or a weird shop that's never open, a pig race, or a crap museum or it may be you and your mates have a fun hobby, a sport you invented...’ he wrote.

The show will be made by Noble's production company Stunt Baby, and it could be on air as early as the autumn.

Meanwhile, Ross's new four-part Radio 4 series, Ross Noble On, starts at 6.30pm on Tuesday.
