Comics to perform in Scottish

Six Scottish comedians are tour Scotland writing sketches entirely in Gaelic.

The results will be aired as a six-part BBC Scotland series called Comadaidh Oir, or Comedy Gold.

A four-strong troupe of actors will be touring with the comedians, to perform the sketches in local theatres. The show will visit Edinburgh, Glasgow, Skye, Berneray, Benbecula and Barra.

Producers have also included a talent contest element to the show, whereby viewers can vote for their favourite sketch at each of the locations.

The series, made by Glasgow-based production houses The Comedy Unit and MnE Television, will be broadcast on BBC Scotland in late November, hosted by Cathy MacDonald and Morag MacDonald.
