Fast Show star joins EastEnders
The Fast Show's Simon Day is to make a cameo appearance in EastEnders this Christmas.
He follows in the footsteps of Little Britain's David Walliams who appeared in last year's festive episodes as Alfie Moon's hapless friend Ray, who faked the role of a registrar.
Day, a fan of the show, will play a cabbie booked who drives “a well-known character” away from Walford forever on Christmas Day.
The comic said: "I've done Celebrity Stars In Their Eyes, Heartbeat and now EastEnders. Izzard, Gervais and Whitehouse - none of them can touch my CV."
Meanwhile, The Office actor Joel Beckett is also joining the soap.
Beckett – who played Lee, the domineering boyfriend of receptionist Dawn – has signed a one-year contract to play Alfie Moon's cousin Jake.Published: 21 Oct 2004
