Another Doors opens...
Craig Cash's sitcom Early Doors is to be given a second series on BBC2.
Channel controller Jane Root has ordered another six half-hour episodes from the Royle Family writer.
Cash also stars in the series, with co-writer Phil Mealey, as locals in a down-at-heel Manchester pub.
The first series, which aired in March, attracted critical acclaim - even though audiences were a modest 1.6 million.
Caroline Aherne was originally co-writing the series, but she walked out following a row with her long-term collaborator.
The new series will be made by Ovation Entertainment, the independent company also responsible for Phoenix Nights, trade journal Broadcast reports.
