Deayton lands another topical quiz game

ITV have snapped up shamed TV host Angus Deayton to front a new sports quiz.

They are hoping that the show, called Just Like Watching Brazil, will do for the back pages what Have I Got News For You did for the front.

Deayton was sacked as host of that show in 2002 following tabloid revelations about his private life. Relentless gags at his expense from guests made his position untenable.

The new quiz show is billed as featuring "a panel of famous names dissecting all the sports news from the previous week".

A pilot is being made by Graham Norton's So Television later this month, with hopes that it will be picked up as a series.

It is the latest in Deayton's rehabilitation into TV. He stars in the acclaimed new BBC3 comedy Nighty Night, which started last night, and last month appeared in the BBC2 sitcom Absolute Power.
