Davidson in hotel bust-up

Threat to call police to 'nick-nick' comic

A hotel threatened to call police after Jim Davidson had a run-in with staff.

The comic claimed the Norwich hotel was "horrible" and served "disgusting food".

But when he complained about the rooms, a row broke out, and he walked out without paying the bill.

Davidson left after having problems ordering a pay-per-view film in the three-star Swallow Nelson Hotel.

The manager offered to remove the film from his bill, but that did not satisfy Davidson.

He told the Eastern Daily Press: "I said, 'That's nice of you taking something off my bill that I haven't seen. We're checking out'

"The manager said, 'Right you'll have to settle the bill'.

"I said, 'We aren't paying, it's horrible'."

"He said, 'If you don't settle the bill we'll call the police'."

But nothing came of the threat, and Davidson left.

He later complained about the hotel restaurant, too, saying: " We tried to get something to eat, but it was disgusting. I said to the chef, 'Can you put of some of that meat on the sole of my shoe, pal?' and he laughed, which was fair enough."

Last month, Davidson hit the headlines after cancelling a show because there were people in wheelchairs in the front row.
