Le cheval qui rie
The Laughing Horse chain of comedy clubs has expanded into France.
The club, which showcases new acts at a string of venues in London and further afield, has opened three nights on the Cote d'Azur.
English-language comedy gigs will run monthly at the bars in Monte Carlo, Antibes and Nice
Club organiser Alex Petty said the idea came from a local promoter who already provided entertainment for the British expats.
He said: "He had thought there was a lack of alternative comedy over there for the ex-pats, who otherwise only get karaoke, theme nights and cover bands. We agreed with him and went into this co-promotion.
"The eventual plan is fo us to break into the package holiday market, supplying acts to various holiday resorts for tourists - and it makes a change from rainy Wednesdays in Kettering!"
The first night of the new show is June 12. For details, visit the official site.
