Kay confirms Phoenix nights spin-off

Peter Kay has confirmed that there will be a spin-off series from Phoenix Nights.

The new Channel 4 show will see club bouncers Max and Paddy travelling around Britain in a camper van.

Max is played by Peter Kay, and Paddy by co-writer Patrick McGuinness

Kay told The Sun: "It will be a series based on them travelling around in the camper van Max bought in Phoenix Nights."

Meanwhile the series's third co-writer, Dave Spikey, who plays club compere Jerry St Clair, has announced a live stand-up tour next year. Click here for dates.
