A bad impression
Frank Skinner's planned new ITV show has been axed after the pilot was branded 'crap'.
First Impressions was to feature members of the public impersonating stars, and hosted by Skinner.
Although the pilot was never been intended for broadcast, network chiefs had high hopes that it could fill a prime-time ITV1 slot.
But they decided not to pick up the show because the pilot was too bad to be screened.
Skinner, too, was unhappy with the finished product
An unnamed ITV insider told The Sun" "It was hoped this could be a big show because Frank is so good at impressions.
"But to be honest, it was crap. It didn't work and it wasn't very funny, so it has been axed."
And Skinner's publicist told Chortle:" It was a non-broadcast pilot and Frank, on reflection after the pilot, decided he did not want to proceed."
