Glasgowing, going, gone
The Glasgow Comedy Festival has been cancelled.
Its main venue, the Tron Theatre, pulled out leading to the collapse of the whole event.
A sponsorship deal with Carlsberg also fell through, some acts decided not to attend and a smaller venue - Blackfriars pub - also decided not to take part.
Organiser James Campbell said: "Despite efforts to save it, we are regretably having to cancel the Glasgow Comedy Festival
"We do not know the exact reasons for so many people pulling out at such short notice."
Events were due to run from June 12 to 16.
The collapse of the festival leaves the field clear for The Stand comedy club, which is planning its own event next year.
