League of Gents star in hospital comedy

The League of Gentelemen's Reece Shearsmith is to star in a new black comedy about the NHS.

He will play a naïve junior doctor in the BBC2 satire TLC.

The six-part series has been created by Dr Fintan Coyle, a doctor turned comedy writer who also helped to create The Weakest Link.

TLC, which is set in a large, modern hospital, will also feature Alexander Armstrong, of comedy duo Armstrong and Miller.

Location filming will take place later this year, MediaGuardian reports.
