All about ratings
The new Meera Syal and Jasper Carrott sitcom All About Me attracted a healthy 6.8 million viewers on Friday night.
Unofficial overnight figures put the BBC1 comedy's audience share at 31 per cent in its 8.30pm time slot.
The show breaks new ground by featuring a mixed-race couple with a wheelchair-bound child in a prime-time sitcom.
However, the programme has been slated by the critics.
The Guardian's Gareth McLean said it was "a disaster fundamentally flawed in every respect", while Paul Hoggart in The Times called it "feeble".
