Rivers of hate
Joan Rivers is threatening to sue makers of a new film about the aftermath of September 11 which alleged she said: "**** world peace" - claiming she actually said: "**** the Muslims"
The comedienne - who is performing in London next month - was one of a number of celebrities set to appear in the documentary We Are Family, which tells the story of a charity record made to raise funds for World Trade Center families.
But she pulled out of the project to re-record the Sister Sledge hit of the same name when she heard some of the proceeds would go towards anti-racist education.
At the time, she told the New York Post she wasn't interested in that aspect of the fundraising, telling the Page Six diary column: "I'm not intolerant toward Arabs or Muslims, but now is not the time for that. I'm boycotting."
In the movie, veteran record producer Niles Rodgers and other celebrities discuss her decision, and make the claim she said: "**** world peace."
Rivers is now threatening to sue over the segment, according to Fox News, which quotes her as saying: "I never said that. I said '**** the Muslims. **** terrorism.' I'm furious, and I will contact my attorneys."
