Dee sent to Siberia

Jack Dee is being sent to Siberia.

The comic will be filming a BBC documentary in the frozen wastelands after he has completed his current stand-up tour.

But he says what he would really like to do is more acting.

"But most scripts I get sent want me to be a maverick cop who drives and old car and likes jazz. I'd rather do something original," he told The Express.

He added that he tries to incorporate topical routines in his act, and currently has material about the Winter Olympics. But one topic he steers clear of is Celebrity Bug Brother.

"There's a section where the audience can ask me questions and they often want me to reveal secrets of other in the house. I try to steer clear of Big Brother because it was for charity, and I don't want it to seem like I'm making money off the back of it.

"It could become as much of a millstone as widgets, but at least it was for a good cause."
