Brass Eye in line for prize

Morris makes award shortlist

The Brass Eye special on paedophilia is in the running for a TV industry prize.

Chris Morris's controversial show has been shortlisted in the comedy category in the Broadcast awards.

Other nominees are Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights, My Family, The Royle Family at Christmas and Coupling.

Readers of Broadcast will vote on the winner, either through the magazine or online at Produxion.com from Thursday.

In the category for best light entertainment programme, Victoria Wood with all the Trimmings will be up against Parkinson, 100 Greatest Kids TV Shows, So Graham Norton and Banzai.

There are 14 categories in all, covering documentaries, drama, entertainment, children's TV, news and sport.

The awards will be handed out on January 30 at London's Grosvenor House Hotel.

Brass Eye received no nominations in the British Comedy Awards, to be presented on Saturday night.
