Lear jests

Stewart Lee's latest project

Stewart Lee is to unveil a new live show later this month.

Pea Green Boat will also include Simon Munnery in the role of poet Edward Lear.

It takes Lear's Owl and The Pussycat verse as its starting point, and evolved from Lee's stand-up routine which pointed out the dangers of placing such natural enemies in a confined environment.

The show is being featured in the Scratch season of works in progress at London's Battersea Arts Centre.

In an e-mail update to fans, Lee said: "It probably won't be done ever again, though it is intended to be the start point for a book."

The show runs from December 20 to 23 at 8pm (6pm on Sunday). For tickets, priced £4.75, or £3.50 concessions, call the box office on 020 7223 2223
