Top guest stars for new series

Dame Edna Everage is to appear on the next series of Ally McBeal.

Mariah Carey, Elton John, Jon Bon Jovi and Jacqueline Bisset will also feature in guest roles.

Carey will play a central role in a plot involving a lawsuit brought by a dissatisfied customer of a matchmaking service.

She will also perform her track Lead The Way, which featured on her film flop Glitter, when her episode airson January 7.

Jon Bon Jovi's character will recur over several episodes
