Connolly not torn off a strip

Billy Connolly's streak around Piccadilly Circus has been cleared by TV watchdogs, despite attracting 67 complaints.

The Broadcasting Standards Commission ruled that his Comic Relief stunt was "a harmless piece of fun" in the spirit of the night.

In all, the Red Nose Day telethon attracted 106 complaints.

Other bones of contention were innuendo in Ali G 's interview with Victoria and David Beckham and a film about a beheading.

However, no complaint was upheld against the show, which raised £54million.
