A Good read...
A major biography of Good Life and Ever Decreasing Circles star Richard Briers was published yesterday – and we have five copies to give away.
The authorised account, More Than Just A Good Life, covers his 60-year career, which included big-screen roles alongside Raquel Welch, Robert De Niro, Denzel Washington, Kathy Bates and Michael Keaton.
And it tells of how he felt most at home on stage, as it would satisfy his passion for taking risks. Appearances in the West End were often interspersed with pantomime seasons or a world tour playing King Lear alongside Kenneth Branagh and Emma Thompson.
Publishers Constable say: ‘Anecdote-rich, this revealing but celebratory book also lifts the lid on the stories behind the shows, films and plays that made up this extraordinarily prolific career, not to mention Richard's working and personal relationships with many of his best-known collaborators and co-stars.’
Written by James Hogg – who has previously penned biographies of Kenny Everett and Ernie Wise among others – the title is available from Amazon, priced £20.
But to stand a chance of winning one of our copies, answer the following question by 5pm on October 12, when we will select the winner at random from all correct answers received.
Good luck! Usual terms and conditions apply.
