Photographs from Montreal's Just For Laughs

Here are some candid photos of comedians at this year's Just For Laughs festival, released as the event draws to a close in Montreal.

Jerry Seinfeld was one of the biggest stars in town, making his first return to the JFL festival since his 1989 debut (Review) … although he managed to keep away from the photographers.

More big names attended the awards show, including Trevor Noah, Jim Carrey, Mike Birbiglia, Craig Ferguson and Jimmy Carr, who was there to present an award.

Kevin Hart was in town to introduce comics to be recorded for his Laugh Out Loud! Network; Judd Apatow made a return to stand-up, taping a Netflix special (Review); and the on-demand service also recorded Craig Ferguson's The New Deal Tour (Review).

Other names the festival included Ali Wong, John Mulaney, Titus Burgess, Russell Peters, Sugar Sammy, and comedy husband-and-wife Natasha Leggero and Moshe Kasher; while the word-of-mouth hit was Bumping Mics, featuring Jeff Ross and Dave Attell.

An end-of-festival press release put out by Just For Laughs also identified other stand-up stand-outs including David Baddiel, Ron Funches (Review, W. Kamau Bell, Ryan Hamilton, Katherine Ryan, Aunty Donna and more.

The festival, now in its 35th year, also said they sold a record-breaking number of industry passes.
