Goodness Gracious Me stars plan a reunion
The stars of Goodness Gracious Me are to reunite to mark 25 years since the groundbreaking BBC comedy first aired.
Stars Kulvinder Ghir and Nina Wadia and writer Sanjeev Kholi have been confirmed for the event – which will be part of a British South Asian literature festival – with the promise of more names to be announced later.
The series – which also starred Sanjeev Bhaskar and Meera Syal – originally aired on BBC Two in 1998 and ran for three series, having originated on Radio 4.
All the stars reunited for a 20th anniversary special on BBC Two in 2018, which is currently available on iPlayer.
The new reunion, hoisted by Tommy Sandhu, will be on day one of the DESIblitz Literature Festival which runs from October 20 to 29 at Birmingham Symphony Hall.
Festival director Indi Deol said: ‘Our mission at the Desiblitz Literature Festival is to continue bringing together diverse audiences, transcending boundaries and celebrating the richness of cultures. Mark your calendars and join us for a transformative experience that will leave you inspired, enlightened and connected.’
Tickets for all events in the festival are on sale from the official website now.
