Jamming the radio
Comedian Steve N Allen hosted his radio show from a traffic jam on the M25 yesterday.
The Mash Report regular got trapped on the motorway on route to his shift on Time 107.5 in Romford, East London, when a lorry full of cooking oil spilled its load.
So he decided to do the show right there, recording links on his phone and emailing them to the studio.
‘Doing a radio show from trapped M25 traffic,’ the stand-up tweeted. ‘The perfect compromise between working from home and returning to the office.’

And after his four-hour stint was over at 6pm, the jam had still not cleared. ‘It was a fun way of working,’ he posted. ‘Sadly we're still stuck here so if anyone has any nighttime radio shows they need doing…’
He finally got home another two hours later, and has now released his links from the motorway as a podcast.
The lorry full of cooking oil spilled its load across the clockwise section of the M25 following a collision with a van and the central reservation, closing the motorway between junction 23 and junction 25. No one was hurt in the accident, prompting Allen to tweet that the news was ‘ great because we can do puns on the show.’
