Impractical Jokers set to return
BBC Three looks set to order another series of hidden-camera show Impractical Jokers.
Comedians Roisin Conaty, Joel Dommett, Marek Larwood and Paul McCaffrey are all expected to return, setting each other embarrassing tasks in public.
The BBC is expected to confirm the commission within days, after all four attended a meeting at production company Yalli earlier this month.
The company tweeted a picture from the day, hinting that it meant a second series; as did Conaty and Dommett, both of whom hashtagged the image #practicaljokers.
Based on an American format, the show was initially piloted in BBC Three’s Comedy Feeds strand last year, before being picked up for a six-episode series. The show first aired in November, but has been repeated twice.
The performers have to interact with the public by following instructions relayed by earpiece from their colleagues. In the first series, commands included trying to steal food off plates in a restaurant, convincing strangers to take a stupid amount of photos of them; and encouraging potential car-buyers to get into the vehicles’ boots.
This year’s batch of BBC Three Comedy Feeds is released at midday on Monday.
