Going out with a bang
One of London's best-known comedy venues is hosting its own mini-rival to the Edinburgh Festival.
The East Dulwich Tavern is celebrating 12 years of theatre, music and comedy before its pub theatre closes next month.
Neil Morrissey, Arthur Smith, Art Malik, Paul Merton, Stephen Frost and Jimmy Nesbitt are just some of the performers who have performed at the venue over the years, and all are now involved in the edfest.
The celebration of a diverse range of performance arts takes place over the bank holiday weekend at the venue, and a big top erected on the green opposite.
Highlights include a celebrity quiz featuring Neil Morrissey and Jimmy Nesbitt; Charmian Hughes premiering her one woman comedy show The Magic Muff; Arthur Smith chairing a chat show; a short film festival including one by Paul Merton; Tony Hawks reading from his novels Round Ireland with a Fridge and Playing the Moldovans at Tennis and Peter Searles' Hey Gringo.
