In the mid-Seventies, Martin Soan set up the Greatest Show On Legs, a one-man adult Punch and Judy show. In around 1978, he teamed up with Malcolm Hardee and the show became an alternative sketch outfit, best known for their naked balloon dance – which they famously performed on Chris Tarrant’s late-night cabaret show OTT in 1982. He continues to perform the act to this day, usually with Bob Slayer and a guest performer – as well as experimenting with clowning and prop comedy. In 2013, he was crowned prize fool at the Muncaster Festival for jesters.
