BBC Radio Wales renews What Just Happened?
BBC Radio Wales has ordered a second series of topical comedy panel show What Just Happened?
Host Robin Morgan and resident panellist Kiri Pritchard-McLean both return for four new episodes of the show, which will air from late May.
Series one was recorded in Cardiff last summer, but the second goes on the road, with recordings in front of live audiences in Bangor, Monmouth and Aberystwyth.
Morgan – who also created the series with Henry Widdicombe – said: ‘When the BBC asked if we wanted a second series, I immediately said yes and then paid my licence fee.
‘I’m thrilled the show’s coming back - never has there been a better time to look at the news in Cymru and beyond. And to take the show on tour around the country is a dream - Kiri and I will be putting our foot down (to a maximum of 20mph) and we can’t wait to get
started.’
Pritchard-McLean added: ‘We’ve got a general election looming, a heatwave in the post and a brand new First Minister in Wales. If this isn’t the best time to welcome back a new series I don’t know when is? (Only joking, I do, it’s a few weeks before I need to pay my tax bill).
‘We’re also hitting the road and popping up in venues around the country so if you’re too lazy to read a newspaper you can come to the show and find out what’s happening in the world."’
The show, made by production company Little Wander, is also putting out an open call for new Welsh or Wales based writers to contribute topical jokes. To register interest, email submissions@littlewander.co.uk between before this Thursday.
Recordings:
May 22: Bangor Pontio - tickets
May 29: Aberystwyth Arts Centre - tickets
June 5: Bangor Pontio - tickets
June 12: Monmouth Savoy - tickets
The show airs the day after recordings.
