Funny business for Scots
A dedicated comedy agency has been launched for Scotland, with big plans to increase the profile of the country's stand-ups.
Stand Out has been formed by the directors of The Stand clubs in Edinburgh and Glasgow and initially represents 13 comics, all of whom are regulars at both venues.
Their roster includes experienced acts such as Fred MacAulay, Arnold Brown (pictured) and Irishman Michael Redmond, as well as newer comics such as Craig Hill and Bob Doolally creator Paul Sneddon.
Director Tommy Sheppard said: "Scotland has a solid and growing full-time comedy scene.
"We aim to get these talented people the promotion and recognition they deserve.
"This is the first agency based in Scotland and we aim to offer serious competition to others in the business, nearly all of whom are based in London."
Stand Out's full list of clients is Frankie Boyle, Joon Broon, Arnold Brown, John Flint, John Gillick, Craig Hill, Fred MacAulay, Jane Mackay, Allan Miller, Susan Morrison, Bruce Morton, Michael Redmond and Paul Sneddon, who performs as Vladimir McTavish and Bob Doolally.
