Fatiha El-Ghorri to star in Channel 4 prank show

Tapped Out moves from online to TV

Channel 4 is piloting a prank show with comedian Fatiha El-Ghorri following the success of an online series.

The stand-up will join rapper ArrDee and JLS singer Aston Merrygold in a series of chaotic challenges in the one-off, Tapped Out Prank Stars.

It follows the success of the Channel 4.0 YouTube series Tapped Out, which launched in May 2023 and has attracted up to 1.5million views per episode.

The host of that show, Nella Rose, will be joined by Harry Pinero – a fellow YouTuber and host of Channel 4.0’s Worst In Class show – for the hour-long pilot, which will air in a peak rime slot in terrestrial TV.

Rose said: ‘I’m so so proud of the success of Tapped Out and absolutely cannot wait to team up with Harry over on Channel 4 to lay down some of the hardest challenges we’ve ever seen. These celebs won’t know what’s coming their way!"’

Those taking part are given increasingly embarrassing tasks until they tap out. The one who lasts the longest is the winner, while the  loser will face one final forfeit.

In a statement, Channel  commissioners Cimran Shah and Evie Buckley said: ‘Tapped Out has been one of the most boisterous and brave shows on Channel 4.0 with millions viewing across our YouTube and social platforms. It’s so exciting to take all the wildest ingredients of this series to create an unpredictable all-star edition for Channel 4.’

And Tafara Makopa, managing director of programme-makers Wall of Entertainment added: ‘Tapped Out is one of our strongest formats, and seeing it evolve from digital to television underscores how the digital landscape is transforming TV itself.’
