Radio 2 falls for The Trap
Acclaimed sketch group The Trap are to record a pilot for Radio 2.
The three-man team of Jeremy Limb, Paul Litchfield and Dan Mersh will be joined by Peep Show’s Isy Suttie for the trial programme, to be recorded next month.
The pilot will be aired at a later date.
Producers have quoted a Chortle review to promote the recording which said: ‘Broadcasters should hang their head in shame not to have them on air’.
The trio, who have been together since 2000, are also working on a TV sketch series called Monsterism, although this is in development limbo.
The Trap with a series of innovative Edinburgh shows to their name as well as the Bad Play spoofs of earnest theatre and the monthly Sodcast internet shows. They are returning to the Fringe this August for the first time in six years with Bad Musical.
