Radio 4 has commissioned a new stand-up series from Chris Neill following the success of his show Woof.
The new show, Raging Enigma, will be another autobiographical stand-up show that will explore ‘the undergrowth of his life and the unvarnished realities of being a really quite mediocre man’, interspersed with sketches to illustrate the anecdotes.
Due to air next year, it follows the ten episodes of the similar Woof, which ran over three series since 2017 and ended last month.
Starting with Neill’s search for a dog - or a boyfriend, it co-stared Martin Hyder and Isy Suttie for most of the episodes, all of which are still available on BBC Sounds.
Neill, a former BBC radio comedy producer on shows such as Just A Minute, made his Edinburgh debut in 2002, and is also a food writer as well as a comedian.
Like Woof, Raging Enigma will be produced by Giddy Goat productions.
