Bernard O’Shea waltzes off Dancing With The Stars
Comedian Bernard O’Shea was voted off Ireland’s Dancing With The Stars last night.
The stand-up and radio host became the fourth celebrity to be sent home from the RTE show – after dressing as a cat to perform a Viennese Waltz to Tom Jones’ What’s New Pussycat.
But judge Brian Redmond said O’Shea could ‘single-handedly be responsible for an entire generation of children growing up with terrible posture’ for dancing with his head sticking out.
The comic and professional partner Valeria Milova then performed int the first dance-off of the series against fitness model Erin McGregor – after which they were sent home.
But O’Shea said he’d loved his time on the show.
‘If it had been called Having The Craic With The Stars I would have won it,’ he said. ‘This has been one of the best experiences of my life.
'It’s been such a joyride. It’s stressful when you are not a good dancer. I wasn’t expecting to get this far.’
Fellow comic Deirdre O'Kane remains in the competition with partner John Nolan. Judge Julian Benson said she performed ‘a dreamy elegant waltz’ on last night’s show, and that she ‘danced from the heart’.
